Parts handling

SCROLL

Application

Parts handling systems in manufacturing processes perform key tasks such as fully automated palletising and depalletising of components, parameter-controlled ejection of defective parts and targeted adjustment of manufacturing parameters within the process chain.

Fully automated palletizing

The robot-assisted ZPAL palletizer from Steimel was specially developed for the fully automated palletizing of small to medium-sized components made from a wide variety of materials on trays. It precisely stacks and positions the parts and thus enables efficient storage and safe transportation. The automated process achieves consistently high handling quality — resulting in shorter production times and reduced labor costs.

Fully automated depalletizing

The ZPAL palletizer can be used not only for palletizing, but also for depalletizing — ideal for separating parts arranged on trays and sequentially transferring them to downstream manufacturing processes. Our systems automatically remove the components from the trays and integrate them precisely into the production process. This reduces manual intervention, increases process efficiency and sustainably improves occupational safety.

Removal of missing parts

Our parts handling systems have parameter-controlled removal of missing parts. Components that do not meet the defined quality requirements are automatically recognized and removed from the production process. This automated quality assurance reduces waste, minimizes rework and ensures consistently high product quality.

Parts supply

Steimel systems ensure the precise, reliable and process-safe delivery of components into the production process. In doing so, they take on tasks such as sorting, aligning and delivering the parts — and thus ensure continuous, automated production without interruptions.

Products

Below is a selection of suitable products for use in parts handling systems within automated manufacturing processes.

Automation

In the area of parts handling, Steimel offers tailor-made automation solutions that make your production processes more efficient, precise and future-proof.

Palletizer

Our palletizers are specifically designed to place components automatically and with high precision on pallets. This significantly simplifies and accelerates the handling of large quantities and at the same time increases process reliability.

Pick and place

Our pick-and-place robots enable components to be picked up and positioned quickly and precisely. They are ideal for applications with high demands on cycle times, repeatability and process reliability — for example in assembly, packaging or quality control.

Line tracking

Our line tracking technology enables precise recognition and handling of components directly on moving production lines. By dynamically synchronizing robot movements with the product flow, it increases the efficiency, flexibility and accuracy of your manufacturing processes.

Bin picking

Steimel's bin picking systems combine sophisticated image processing with precise robotics to reliably remove components from containers — even with irregular geometries or unsorted positions. This technology is ideal for complex handling tasks and makes a significant contribution to automation and increasing efficiency in manufacturing.

Part types

Steimel's parts handling systems are designed to precisely move, position and integrate workpieces of a wide variety of materials and geometries into the production process. Whether metal, plastic or complexly shaped components — our systems ensure a reliable and efficient material flow, regardless of material or shape. Below is an overview of typical materials and their areas of application.
