SCROLL
Product overview
Steimel offers a comprehensive portfolio of centrifuge solutions that are precisely tailored to specific production requirements. Both continuous and batch centrifuges are used. The systems cover a wide range of applications for chips and parts – from drying, washing, rinsing and de-oiling to coating and the recovery of cooling lubricants – and ensure reliable and sustainable production processes with a short payback period.

Steimel batch-fed centrifuges are used in numerous industrial applications. They are suitable for processing parts or chips. The material can be fed into drums or perforated boxes. Special holders are available for very sensitive parts. Batch centrifuges can be used as a stand-alone solution. They can be operated manually or integrated into a fully automated system.
Batch operation
max. 30 batches/hour
Max. filling weight per batch
maximum filling weight per batch
Drum volume
12 - 200 litres
Max. speed
up to 1400 rpm
Special features
easy to use and versatile

These centrifuges are designed for industrial applications with continuous material feed. Unlike batch centrifuges, they operate without interruption: material is fed in via conveyor technology and discharged directly into conveyors or containers. Continuous systems in combination with conveyor technology and Swarf crushers are particularly impressive in chip processing with uniform material and cooling lubricant – for efficient separation, minimal residual moisture and high-performance disposal in continuous operation.

up to 1,400 rpm
Throughput
0.2 - 10 m³/h
Special features
Continuous operation in a compact design

The fully automatic Steimel batch system enables the single-type processing of all chip types made of a wide variety of materials and cooling lubricants – for maximum cost-effectiveness and sustainability. In addition, parts can be efficiently washed, de-oiled, dried and coated – for the highest process quality and maximum flexibility in production.

Applications for swarf processing
Steimel centrifuges are used for a wide variety of applications. Here you will find an overview of the different areas of application.
Recycling
Efficient processing of metal chips for return to the production cycle. This allows valuable raw materials to be recycled, disposal costs to be significantly reduced and an important contribution to resource conservation to be made.
Degreasing
Reliable removal of cutting oils, emulsions and cooling lubricant residues from metal chips – a key prerequisite for material recycling and reducing environmental impact in the manufacturing process. In addition, the lower amount of residual oil increases the proceeds from the sale of the chips and enables clean and safe transport.
Washing
Removal of contaminants such as solids, processing residues or foreign matter from metal chips. This cleaning improves material purity and sustainably increases the quality of the recycled material.
Coolant recovery
Efficient recovery of cooling lubricants from oil-containing or wet metal chips – to reduce media consumption, disposal costs and environmental impact. The recovered liquids can be reused directly or recycled.
Drying
Reduction of residual moisture in metal chips – ideal for preparation for storage, transport or melting processes. Dry chips prevent corrosion, improve handling and increase the efficiency of downstream process steps.
Applications for bulk materials and parts
Steimel centrifuges are used for a wide variety of applications. Here you will find a list of the various applications involving bulk materials.
Washing
Removal of adhering dirt, particles or processing residues from bulk goods parts – ideal for preparing subsequent processing steps or as final cleaning for the highest cleanliness requirements.
Rinsing
Removal of residues from upstream washing or treatment processes using clear rinsing fluids – with the aim of ensuring a largely residue-free and clean surface.
Degreasing
Reliable reduction or removal of lubricants, emulsions and oil films that have been applied to components during manufacturing – often as a necessary preparatory step for further thermal or chemical processing.
Separate
Efficient separation of workpieces or media with different densities or consistencies – ideal for recovering process media or sorting mixed materials in manufacturing and processing.
Passivation
Application of a thin, oxide protective layer – usually iron or zinc-based – to increase corrosion resistance. The resulting passive layer serves as temporary or permanent surface protection and supports the longevity of the components.
Drying
Reliable removal of residual moisture from bulk materials following aqueous treatment processes. This prevents corrosion and recontamination and enables fast, reliable further processing.
Coating
Application of corrosion protection agents, conversion coatings or lubricating coatings to produce uniform, adhesive layers. The aim is to achieve a defined surface function – whether for protection, lubrication optimisation or decorative purposes.
Rust preventative
Temporary or permanent protection against oxidation by applying protective oils or protective solutions – ideal for preserving metal surfaces during storage, transport or intermediate processing steps.
Oiling
Targeted application of a thin film of oil to reduce friction, provide temporary preservation or prepare for subsequent mechanical processing steps. The oil coating protects the surface and optimises the manufacturing process.
Refining
Final treatment of metallic or technical surfaces to specifically improve gloss, feel, protection or functional properties. Depending on requirements, several sub-processes can be combined to achieve a high-quality, application-specific end result.
