Since 1878, the name Steimel has stood for innovative technology “made in Germany”. Over generations, a manufacturer of agricultural machinery has developed into an internationally active industrial company with a focus on centrifuge and pump technology.

Johann Steimel founds a company to manufacture machines for agriculture — including threshing machines, hay turners and seeders
1880
Introduction to centrifuge technology
The range is being expanded to include hand-operated milk centrifuges, which are quickly becoming the main economic product.
1914
Before World War I
Blood separators and de-oiling centrifuges complement the portfolio. Production is supported by its own iron foundry until 1925.

Expansion of pump technology
With the decline in the private milk centrifuge market, the development of powerful gear and centrifugal pumps begins — a step that successfully guides the company through the economic crisis.

Specializing in ship pumps
Steimel develops seawater-resistant, self-priming centrifugal pumps as cooling and bilge pumps for marine diesel engines. To this day, we supply the world's leading large engine manufacturers.
